Hitting rock bottom is VERY hard to admit. It is embarassing, brings alot of shame, and makes you think about ending it all. AND/OR....it drives you to want to make changes. It drives you to want to be who you know you were and can be again. This is where I finally am!!
I have been diagnosed with liver disease and acute hepatitis. Stupidly, this has been self induced due to being an alcoholic (I have finally admitted this to myself and others). I have been in and out of the hospital the past month as the doctors tried to determine what was wrong and the best course of treatment. I am currently unemployed, living in a shelter (not my best moment in life) and sober for 63 days!! I remember when I was a positive influence on the lives of many. I plan to be that person again.
I have a long road ahead of me with recovery: physically, mentally and emotionally. I continue to have doctors visits/bills as they stabalize me and help me on my journey towards full recovery. Asking for help is something I have never done and it is an extraordinarily humbling experience. If you have it in your heart to lend a helping hand to getting me back to the person I was, I will be forever indebted.
