Memories for Matty

This is Matty, Matty is 15 years old and for the past 3.5 years has been fighting medullablastoma. A malignant brain tumour.
Matty hasnt just had 1 tumour, infact Matty had his first tumour removed in January 2017. He went through painful and lengthy chemotherapy and radiotherapy, he rang the bell in 2018 getting the all clear.
Sadly Mattys follow up scan showed relapsed medullablastoma tumours so he went on another treatment plan of aggressive and invasive chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Matty went into remission again.
Unfortunately at his most recent scan, his family received the devastating blow that Matty has new brain tumours. He is due to start a new chemotherapy regimen where he will go every day to QMC Nottingjam, from his home in Leicester for 2 weeks and then a week off before starting again. Mattys chemo will be delivered into the port which is in his head.
The saddest part of this story is that the prognosis for medullablastoma is not great, Mattys family have been told the future is bleak yet they're still fighting with every ounce of their beings for a positive outcome for their amazing son.
I met Mattys family when he was in hospital for his first lengthy chemo treatment plan, he showed my daughter true kindness and his Mum and I became firm friends- we share a love of coffee and dark humour and we are both nurses! Never once have I ever heard the family complain or ask for a single penny from anyone, not ever! So, I am begging every single person who reads this to please please donate as much as you can afford. We know the world is a strange place right now which makes the constant trips to hospital even more complex for the family, we understand money is tight for everyone but this family wont ask for a thing so I am asking if you have a single £ in your pocket that youd like to go towards trying to make some everlasting memories for this wonderful family, please consider donating it to Matty and his family.
