Memorial Service for Melvin “Perk” Hendrix

Melvin Hendrix, also known as “Perk” was known by many in southeast San Diego. Always loud, enthusiastic, and loved anyone’s cooking—he would pull up to the cookout and ask for a plate, and play with all of the kids who adored him while he waited. 

On July 26, 2019, we suddenly lost Melvin due to unknown causes.  This is a painful loss for everyone who knew him. Melvin did not have any children or a spouse, and right now his family is working very hard to raise funding to expense a small memorial service, cremation, and a cookout in his honor and memory. Any contribution is greatly appreciated by the family.
