Memorial Service for Matt Devendorf
Donation protected
The loss of Mathew Devendorf, 27, is unexpected and devastating. Loved by friends and family, Matt was creative, smart, funny, kind, and artistic. Unknown to many – as he was a joy to be around – Matt battled deep depression since childhood. He sought help and treatment for years; he had even started new medication just weeks before his passing.
On March 4th, Matt went missing, and every possible step has been taken to find him. It is difficult to write, however, that the worst possible outcome can be concluded. We have enough information to support the longstanding idea that he is at peace.
Matt’s family is extremely distressed by this tragedy. All funds on this page will go to costs associated with Matt’s memorial which include a memorial service at the Chicago Botanical Gardens (one of his favorite places to go), flowers, and his cremation which is estimated to be $12,000. Any money that is left over will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide
Thank you for all of the love and support for Matt, who will be deeply missed by his mom, Pam, brother, Andrew, dad, Robert and the rest of his family and many, many friends.
Thank you again.
