Memorial Fund to Honor Justin Orenstein

Tax deductible
As we remember Justin's life and legacy, his beautiful parents and sister, Craig, Kelly, and Alyssa, want to honor his memory with the help of Barrier Islands Little League, a place where Justin felt at peace with his "kids". Some years ago, Justin drove up to the Maybank fields and asked how he could get involved with the league. Justin comes from a gifted athletic background and loved and appreciated the game of baseball, where he excelled at pitching. Starting at a young age pitching to his sister, he continued his baseball career through travel ball, high school, and then with a college scholarship.  Justin's favorite jersey number, #8, for his love of Cal Ripken, Jr. and the Baltimore Orioles, will be forever remembered at the Maybank fields as J's number.

Many of you have asked Justin's family how you can honor him and their thoughts graciously went to Barrier Islands LL. With the guidance of Justin's family, BI will use the funds raised to honor Justin at our fields and within our league. Justin's goals and ambitions for the league helped shape the way our coaches lead today. He understood the importance of letting kids be kids, especially on the field.  He was not only a mentor, but a friend to many. Please help us continue to provide a positive space for the children of our community to feel safe and comfortable playing the game we all love.

"How you lead when things aren't going well is the sign of a true leader." - Craig & Justin Orenstein
