Memorial fund for Orgeon Woman Killed by Dog

Donation protected
Friday Afternoon, September 24, Amber Dawn LaBelle 42, of Myrtle Point, Oregon, was at home with her two daughters, Emelynn 8 yrs and Adelynn 5 yrs, who had been with their father, Josef Dieckman, and dropped off shortly before the attack. The dog (who belonged to a friend) was in one of the bedrooms and as she opened the door, the dog attacked her, for reasons we may never truly understand.

Amber loved everything about being a mother and she was a wonderful one. Amber and Joey were determined to raise their daughters to be kind, loving, compassionate, independent thinkers. Sadly, he must parent the girls without their mother now.

Her first priority was the safety of her children. As a testament to her courage Amber, without hesitation, or concern for her own personal safety, protected her girls. It’s not enough to say that she was a loving, and devoted mother to her precious daughters. Amber had a warrior’s heart that day. No doubt she was afraid, but It was her love for her children that was stronger than her fear.

Amber was mauled by the dog and received life-threatening wounds. She was airlifted to PeaceHealth Sacred Heart Medical Center in RiverBend, Oregon, and rushed into emergency surgery. Amber was subsequently placed on life support yet tragically succumbed to her injuries and passed away on Saturday morning, September 25 at 4:05 am.

The emotional trauma her daughters will experience from witnessing the attack and now knowing mommy won't be coming home is heart-wrenching. Joey and the girls have a long road of sorrow, grief, and healing ahead of them.

Many have asked, how can we help? This Go-fund-me account has been created to help support her family. The enormous medical bills, funeral expenses, emotional counseling, and financial burdens will be too much to endure.

Please consider donating to help relieve the financial strain they now face. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference.

Josef is overwhelming grateful and amazed at the outpouring of love and positive messages of support and condolences he and the girls have received. It is a balm for their grief-stricken broken hearts.

Thank you for your contribution.
