Memorial Fund for Mary Bayes

On October 10, 2018 our seaside community of Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver lost a loving friend, advocate and gentle leader. Mary gave her love, time, heart and soul to our community. She was an altruist in the truest sense of the word.
The Western Residents Association has created this Go Fund Me page to raise funds to create a permanent commemoration of Mary Bayes, who gave so much to our community and all of us. Her smile was wide and she gave of herself, tirelessly through her countless volunteer efforts.
The WRA will use these funds to set up a permanent tribute to Mary. There have been suggestions that we seek to rename the dog park in Mary's name and to dedicate a park bench to her for her selfless dedication to our community. We are investigating all options and will hold the proceeds of this campaign intact while we determine the most fitting tribute to Mary.
In 2016 the District of West Vancouver honoured Mary with a Community Commitment Award. She was a long-standing volunteer in our community and a devoted, Director and co-chair with the Western Residents Association for over a decade. Mary was a tireless volunteer and advocate. She was also a chair of the Gleneagles Community Advisory Committee. She supported our community with her tireless energy and desire to make our fabulous community an even better place through her commitment to the Rotary Club where she was registrar, Taste of the Bay, Movie in the Park, Dinner on the Dock, Coho Festival, Cool North Shore and even this FB group where she was an admin.
But most importantly, Mary was a kind, loving friend to all who knew her, including the furry friends of Horseshoe Bay. She cherished our community and each and every one of us.
Mary's passing leaves a hole in our hearts and community.
