TV Interview on 11/18/2020 about Leo Bialek's Life:
Leo Bialek Interview

Leo Bialek passed away on 11/27/2020 at the age of 102. He was a WWII Veteran,  Father,  Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and a kind friend/neighbor to all.

He was born in 1918 and grew up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago.
He married his late wife Elizabeth Welsh (married forty-nine years). Early in his marriage he was drafted into the army for WWII.

He was a private in WWII the 2nd Division under General Patton. He was in a tank division that was known as "Hell on Wheels". He fought from Normandy, France to Germany.

He had two children Patricia Kyle (deceased) and William Bialek (deceased). He had four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He was an avid dancer at the Willowbrook and the Glendora. He and his wife used to go dancing every Sunday. He was a fan of "Big-Band" music and listening to Frank Sinatra and Lawrence Welk.

He also enjoyed walking the mall and making new friends everyday.

He had many close friends: his wonderful neighbors, people he danced with, and the people at the Orland Park mall. He would love to entertain his friends by either singing or playing the harmonica.

He remained active up until a week before his death. Unfortunately, Leo Bialek had contracted COVID-19, and he died in the hospital not being able to have his grandchildren around him.

I am requesting money to help with the expense of the Funeral and medical expenses. He has outlived his children who died in their early fifties, and he has outlived his retirement fund. He has been living off of his small Social Security Check.

All donations are appreciated.
