Below is story of when cancer started:

Jon Steffens is a husband, a father, and a son. He  has been dealing health issues for a few weeks, originally thought to be focal seizures. On December 16th he began to have trouble breathing with increasing chest pain. He went to the ER in West Union and after chest X rays he was told that he had a  mostly collapsed right lung due to fluid build up in his chest cavity. He was also informed that there are lesions on his lungs, strongly suspected to be cancer.

Jon was transferred to Mayo in Rochester MN to begin draining the fluid from his chest and to determine the cause of the lesions and fluid build up.

After draining the fluid, conducting numerous tests, and doing a lung tissue biopsy, it was determined that Jon has Testicular Choriocarcinoma (cancer) which spread to his lungs.

Due to the aggressive nature of this cancer, he was transferred to the oncology department to immediately begin a 12 week 4 course chemotherapy treatment plan.

Jon is married to Krista Steffens (Lane), and combined between the two they have 5 children. Krista has needed to take multiple days off of work to make sure Jon gets the help he needs, and Jon hasn't been feeling well or able to be very productive for several weeks due to the symptoms he has been dealing with. This has kept Jon from running his ag repair business , losing 1000 + round bales of custom work, and countless hours to come of repair work.

The missed time at work leading up to this has given these new expenses a head start and this is adding a tremendous amount of stress on top of an already stressful and painful situation.  Any donations would be greatly appreciated and used to pay for travel, parking, medical expenses, personal bills that are all mounting throughout this period of being laid up in the hospital, and medical expenses to come with treatments.
