Memorial Fund for Gordon’s Wife Margie

Gordon was born September 11, 1946, in Panama as his dad was in US Navy submarines. His mom was a Scottish war bride. Gordon suffered polio at 10 months old. Unfortunately, the hospital in Panama was not up to date on medical treatment and they recommended total rest that left his left leg paralyzed and with no muscle. He wore a brace all his life and had more than 13 operations growing up to keep the right leg from growing too long. The Shriners were instrumental in his youth with hospital costs for operations that we are forever grateful for.

Gordon died of heart failure 5-5-2020 after a long decline and numerous hospital stays. He is survived by his loving wife Margie of 42 years, 2 daughters, 2 grandkids and 2 great-grandkids. He always had a smile through all his tragedies and never complained. He inspired and encouraged a lot of people with his optimism, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. He was a double amputee in the last years of his life and was unable to get into the bathroom and shower with his wheelchair so they had a bathroom renovation, widening the door for a wheelchair accessible shower that left them with this large debt. Their home is owned/claimed by SSI and reverts back to the state when Margie dies. They lived on $1,500 a month SSI, which is now $750 a month that she will now have to live on. They have an outstanding debt of $15,000 that she is unable to pay. Won't you consider helping Margie stay in her home of 48 years by making a donation? God Bless you.
