Memorial Fund for David Ferrara

Donación protegida
My brother an unbelievably kindhearted and gentleman, died yesterday at the age of 48 from Glioblastoma brain cancer. He fought hard for the past 11 months when he found out the tumor had come back, but he could no longer keep up the battle.

His devoted wife Candy Ferrara, a strong and resilient woman, had to leave her job in February due to the extent of David’s illness and take care of him full time. Because of this, David was able to spend his last months in the comfort of his own home in his own bed. We were able to be right next to him, holding his hand and comforting and talking to him as he died.

David's long sickness and ultimate death has left Candy in a situation where she will need substantial financial support to bring her life back together for herself and her daughter to overcome this loss. Because Veteran’s Affairs has not linked David’s illness to his military service in Afghanistan and Iraq, all current benefits, which have been their lifeline, will cease in October.

This leaves Candy with no income at the saddest and most difficult time in her life.

Many of you donated before, if you can find it in your heart to help again, it would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar helps.

Specifically, the raised funds will be used to cover cremation, memorial costs and to help Candy get back on her feet. All of these funds will go directly to Candy Ferrara.

With gratitude for your much needed support, Crissie.
