Memorial Fund for Bobby Silva

Dear Family and Friends of Bobby Silva,

On Tuesday, March 23rd, 2021 our lives changed forever by the sudden passing of Robert "Bobby" Silva, Sr. Bobby lost his battle to mental illness at the age of 39.  Despite the pain he silently endured, Bobby lived every single day to the fullest.
Bobby was known to most as an extremely talented chef but more importantly he was a loving father to his two sons Bobby and Alex, a wonderful son, an amazing brother to five siblings, a truly special uncle and a remarkable friend who was loved by all.

Bobby's passion for food/cooking was something that he prided himself on. Throughout his career he traveled the world, helped open some of the best restaurants all over the country, held titles such as Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef, Executive Chef, Lead Culinary Trainer and Corporate Executive Chef.  Through it all, Bobby being the most humble human you'd ever meet, always considered himself an equal to staff around him. He never once forgot the fact that he got to where he was by starting out as a dishwasher at a bar and grill when he moved to Las Vegas from Southern California in his late teens.

Although he held many titles, the most important one was Dad.  Bobby loved his sons Bobby and Alex tremendously.  He loved teaching them about his craft, life, space and physics.  He was very intelligent and was a quiet observer. He always taught them to look at the deeper meaning of things and always told them how important learning, evolving and growing was.

While we are devastated by the passing of such a beautiful soul, as Bobby’s sister I, Angie Mendez on behalf of my family am here to ask for your contributions to celebrate his life.  A life he had lived in full.  Please know that all the contributions will go towards all this in giving Bobby the memorial and funeral he so much deserves, and to say our final farewells.

I know Bobby loved his family and gave the most he could in his career, so we would be so appreciative if  you would celebrate with us and donate anything you can to assist his family.

Thank you to all who have reached out and offered their thoughts and prayers.  Your kind words have kept us pushing through this hard time.
