Memorial for Stella Kapinski

To try to explain “our story” isn’t something anyone will ever be able to do.
We always made the best outta any situation we were dealt. She raised us to deal with the worst and hope for the best. Always be prepared.
Our mom was never dealt the best hand. After losing her husband in 1989, she took on more stress than just being a single mother. She had to deal with issues no widow with 3 kids should ever have to try to figure out. From the piling debt, to raising and providing for children all on her own.
It was never easy but somehow, we always had a roof over our head and food on the table.
The last few years hasn’t been easy. After battling breast cancer and being in remission, she was again attacked by the horrible disease. This time it spread, but she, after lots of support, took fight once again.
Knowing that she had another grandchild on the way, she did the best she could to be a part of her life.
With struggles with memory and paranoia, she tried to mask her sickness and continue to show unconditional love.
On February 4, 2018, Stella Kapinski won her last battle. It wasn’t expected and extremely heartbreaking, but she is finally pain free and at peace.
Unfortunately, we were never able to put in place anything to cover such an unexpected event as this. Stella was on a fixed income and wasn’t able to save due to her financial situation.
We can’t express the amount of love and gratitude that we feel for the support we received and continue to receive.
Stella’s memorial will be Wednesday February 21 from 6-8pm at Shaw’s Crab House in Schaumburg.
