Raymond Nevarez was a loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend. He passed unexpectedly due a massive heart attack on August 9th, 2018, surrounded by his loved ones.
He had four children from his first marriage: Ray, Yvette, Moses, and Ruben.
He later met Nora and and had two children: Erik and Erin. He and Nora would have celebrated their 33rd wedding anniversary this November.
Those who knew him well would say he wasn't as rough and tough as his large handlebar mustache and bald head may have implied, but was instead a incredibly sensitive and empathetic man who cared for everyone. He loved a good joke and was terrible at telling them, usually because he could only make it halfway through before he'd start chuckle-snorting.
Many knew that when he dressed up, he aimed to be a 10 out of 10, with his signature hat and Stacey Adams shoes. Never one to shoot down a complement, he always appreciated when someone would comment on what he wore (or how wrinkle-free his skin was).
My dad was always there for people when they needed something. He befriended strangers, gave rides to co-workers, and helped spread a message of hope to others. He had no difficulty in putting himself in the shoes of those around him.
Our family is beyond devastated by our loss, and we are asking for donations to cover the costs of the cremation and his celebration of life. Any amount is greatly appreciated as we struggle to get through this tough time.
