Dear friends and family of Chuck and Dana Friez,
We created this GoFundMe page to support our dear friend and colleague, Dana Friez. Dana recently experienced the tragic and unexpected loss of her beloved husband Chuck. We are asking for your support to help lighten Dana’s financial burden related to Chuck’s passing.
There are no words to describe the loss of Chuck. He was a talented artist with a goofy sense of humor. His gentle spirit and kindness were cherished by all who encountered him. He was a wonderful husband to Dana. Chuck always wanted to make sure Dana was taken care of and this is one way we can honor his memory.
Below are some details regarding Chuck’s untimely passing and how the funds will be utilized.
Early in the morning of October 26, 2020, Chuck died suddenly of hypertensive arteriosclerosis cardiovascular disease at the age of 44. He had no history of or predisposition to this particular disease, so it came as a complete shock. As anyone could imagine, it has been incredibly difficult and heartbreaking for Dana to lose Chuck at such a young age. Especially in this way, after they have been together for 20 years. Now she has to scramble to make arrangements, while trying to grieve and make sense of what happened.
Dana and Chuck moved away from their family in Pittsburgh to California in 2014. Dana will be traveling back to Pittsburgh for services. Some of the many costs Dana will incur and we hope to alleviate are travel expenses (she will be renting a car and then staying at a hotel for her time in Pittsburgh), cremation, funeral and memorial service expenses, obituary, death certificates, and other associated costs.
Any contribution you are able to give will be greatly appreciated. All funds above the cost of Chuck’s arrangements will be donated to the Long Beach City College Foundation to be used for student scholarships.
Dana has expressed her deep appreciation to the many people who have already reached out through phone calls and text messages to send their kind wishes and expressions of sympathy. Thank you in advance for your love and support of Dana.
