Melton "Fox" Gore Memorial Fund
Donation protected
This is the OFFICIAL fundraising page for L/Cpl Melton "Fox" Gore. As with any death of a friend or family member, anyone can understand the emotional, physical, as well as financial strain, that a death in the family can cause. Along with thoughts and prayers for Fox's family and friends, any financial contribution that someone is able to make will be extremely appreciated. The financial expenses that go along with laying a loved one to rest, coupled with any medical expenses, should not be a burden that family has to deal with. ALL monies raised will go directly toward the Gore family for expenses.
Horry County Police Department is deeply saddened to recognize the passing of Melton “Fox” Gore who was killed in the line of duty. L/CPL Gore was performing a task outside of his truck near the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 31 when he was hit by a vehicle.
Prior to his passing, L/CPL Gore served as an environmental officer with Horry County Police Department for more than 20 years. He was just 56 years old at the time of his death.
Fox was a caring person who was known around the County for the delicious meals that he cooked—his food and his kindness were known to bring people together.
If someone needed it, he would give the shirt off of his back with a casual “got you, baby.” He made a profound impact upon his community and will be dearly missed.
Everyone that knew Fox, has a 'Fox Story'. Whether it was his positive attitude, his outstanding work ethic, or his infectious smile...you better believe you are a better person for having Fox as a part of your life.
Fox’s funeral is set for Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
Any funds raised will go toward Fox’s arrangements, as well as the care of his 12-year-old son.
Until we meet again...."I got you baby"
