Melodie Young Family

Brian and Melody Young are our closest friends. Below is her story in her own words:

Please consider blessing our family with prayers and support! My name is Melodie Young. I was Diagnosed with Liver/Bile duct cancer in 2015 (cholangiocarcinoma) @the age of 38 and while pregnant with my youngest daughter, Audree Faith. Even doctors were in shock and confused how a fist size mass grew so quickly and silently on my liver.  The only symptoms I had were fatigue and heartburn, but associated it with a high-risk pregnancy. I met NO criteria for this very rare terminal diagnosis. I was a thriving healthy mother/wife running my own handmade jewelry boutique and working part-time as a nurse (20yr. LPN) My passions have always been my family and faith!! My children are now 2(Audree Faith) 10 (Brennan), 13 (Blake) 17 (Ashlee). We were a very active family enjoying activities in church, school, missions, camping, sports, cooking, atv riding, gardening, horseback riding, crafting, hiking, traveling, community events, etc.. A few days after my daughter was born, Doctors prognosis, at best, gave me approximately 2 years with radiation and chemo therapy.  Surgery was not an option. We were devastated! A family full of life given a death sentence!! I had completed radiation and 2 rounds of Chemo when I felt the gentle voice of Jesus whisper promises of peace and life. It was obvious that He was guiding me towards a different avenue of healing! 

~And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ~ Philippians 4:11

After weeks and months of prayer, and research and more & more prayer, we embraced a complete lifestyle change of Natural/alternative/holistic therapies. It was scary diving into a protocol not many had heard of, understood or even guaranteed significant results.  But we chose Faith over fear, and immediately started changing our diets and fueling my immune system to fight the cancer ravaging my body and lifetime with my family. Juicing, herbs, teas, supplements, acupuncture, detox therapies, lymphatic drainage, infrared sauna sessions, coffee enemas, rebounding, bio-feedback treatments, stress release and meditation therapies, Vitamin infusions, IV & ozone oxygen treatments are a few things I do daily or weekly!! Fighting cancer had become a full time job for my family! We have been honest with our children from the beginning (never promising life or death) and have always taught them GOD IS IN ULTIMATE CONTROL!! These are heartbreaking lessens to watch your children go through. Yes, they are all warriors battling this Stage 4 Cancer war too!!! They have sacrificed so much already and with such serving, gracious hearts!!! Unfortunately, all of this is out of pocket. Insurance pays nothing in natural healing, not even vitamins.  I have been unable to work and my husband, Brian has been home with me for months as well.  Throughout my journey, my overall health has been good but the cancer has recently started growing and compromising my organ function. The decision to involve hospice in June was made after much prayer and has been such a blessing since!!

We continue to cling to the cross moment by moment as the bad and good days waiver on. The expense of my protocol has taken a toll and we are now reaching out for financial support to continue fighting cancer. Any donations will be used on continuing treatments to help extend my life (by the way, I've already lived past the doctors prognosis) and enjoy the time I have left with my family. Cancer is ravaging beast and has taken so much from us in every aspect, but we stand firm in our faith and have chosen to spread God's love and grace as our mission!! He is so faithful and has never left my side!! Please continue to pray for our family on this journey!
