Surrounded by family, Melissa Kay Phillips made her journey to heaven on October 29, 2017. After a long battle with cancer, she is now at peace. She endured many challenges during her time here on earth but she always kept a positive attitude through it all. Melissa was such an amazing woman! Her ability to embrace such hardship and overcome obstacles is a true inspiration. Cancer was unable to break her spirit. Her zest for life and competitive fire burned brightly to the end. She took everything cancer could throw at her and kept going. She endured pain that would have hobbled the toughest. She found energy in the face of draining treatments. She maintained a positive outlook in the bleakest of situations. But cancer did not beat Melissa. It never stood a chance. Her heart was full of love and her memory will continue to live on as the days go by. She will be missed immensely by all the lives she touched along the way. Melissa was a gift given to us from God and has now earned her wings as an angel who will continue to watch over us.
At this time, we ask you to find it in your heart to help us ease the financial load that comes with providing a memorial service that Melissa greatly deserves.
