It’s been almost two years since Melissa was first diagnosed with Stage 3 Lyme and Babesia and unfortunately Melissa is very much in need of her communities support and loving care again.
After her original diagnosis, Melissa worked with a top Lyme doctor located in Irvine California & sought out many other treatments. For a while she did see small glimpses of improvement, but spent most days bedridden.
Recently, Melissa started feeling even worse and intuitively knew it was time to see another Functional Medicine Doctor for more testing. Thankfully she listened to her intuition because on top of the Lyme diagnosis this new doctor found over 5 other viruses in Melissa at scary high levels, alongside CIRS from mold exposure. This has caused kidney and adrenal insufficiency, immune dysfunction, and it is basically attacking all of her organs, including her brain.
The good news is that they caught it in time and lots of it is reversible. Her new doctor has a full 2 year treatment plan. He will be working very closely with her and will constantly be monitoring everything. She has been made aware that it's going to be a lot of work with some trial & error.
Throughout all of this, she has been staying so strong and can’t wait to be able to get out of bed soon to dance with her sweet daughter Tuesday, support Joe, and see her friends. She is remaining hopeful, but the road ahead is filled with many more treatments.
The goal that we are trying to reach is to help her to be able to afford the necessary treatment to get her well as this treatment is not covered by insurance. Any help you can give is received with so much gratitude.
Melissa is truly one of the most giving people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. She’s a dear friend to so many. I know I am not alone in wanting to support her the way that she would eagerly step up to support others during this difficult time.
