Melissa J. Pirozzi Memorial Scholarship
Don protégé
In honor of Melissa Pirozzi, money is being raised for a scholarship in her name to be given to students at Horry-Georgetown Technical College studying in the Digital Arts program.
Melissa was a talented artist and gifted professor who poured her heart into working with students. Throughout her 3 battles with cancer, she continued to teach and selflessly devote her time and energy to her students. Melissa was able to mentor and inspire so many students at HGTC during her 10 years as a professor, and is credited by many students as being the person who kindled their love of graphic design.
Melissa was a Florence, SC native who earned a bachelors degree from Francis Marion University in Visual Arts and a masters degree in graphic arts from Savannah College of Art & Design.
The Melissa J. Pirozzi Memorial Scholarship is a way that her legacy will live on by giving back to students majoring in the program she taught in. It will be the first Digital Arts specific scholarship available to students at HGTC. This will be an annual scholarship given to students in partnership with the Horry-Georgetown Technical College Foundation, a 501(c) (3) organization.
If you would like to make your donation to the scholarship tax deductible, please contact us for directions.
