Many of you know I am on a leave of absence from my flight attendant world. It has been a blessing to say the least considering the pandemic. It has also been a massive struggle for my mental health. I am constantly struggling with discovering what my purpose is during this time of opportunity and find myself going in circles. However, I am realizing that challenge, a new perspective on my daily life and the future of our planet is rising to the top of my priority list.
That is why I have decided to join my momentom collective family in Costa Rica at their first ever “Green Residency”. I usually join my Momentom family to have fun and get creative. At this residency, I will be playing the role of student much more. We will learn about permaculture, bioarchitecture, sustainability, all while living on and learning at a successful permaculture farm off the beaten path. Of course it is still sprinkled with circus aspects of music, arts and dance! It will be a huge challenge for me, stripping myself of my comforts - air conditioner, my cat, my personal space, family, friends, car and more. I find it nothing short of a coincidence or synchronicity that my lease in Charlotte ends the first day the 6 week residency begins on January 18, 2021. I feel it in my soul this is my next step in life. The next path I have chosen. So I am asking for help from my friends and family. It feels very odd to do so, however I truly want to make this work and any amount will help towards this dream. I will be doing whatever I can with odd jobs to pay for this trip as well. I am already grateful that you read this far and truly appreciate your love and support.
I feel it is finally time for me to shift from being an observer, a fly on the wall, to becoming an active student and participant in creating a better world.
Feel free to call me if you wish to know more.
Pura Vida,
Melissa
