Funeral assistance

I've stared at this screen for what seems like hours, not knowing what to say. On Valentine's Day 2/14/18 I lost my best friend, my twin, my Melinda. She literally was my other half. She had been diagnosed with recurrent breast cancer, and had been on hospice care at home. Despite this, she was determined to continue on with everything as normal and disliked being fussed over. Her passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving those behind in shock and grief. Melinda had been approved by the Dream Foundation for possible assistance with last wishes (ie. a trip), and we were told they would help family with things like travel assistance for loved ones to visit her, and funeral assistance. Unfortunately, they have informed us that since she has passed, they cannot help. Melinda lived on a limited income, and her daughter had quit her job in order to care for her. They do not have savings set aside for funeral expenses. I'm reaching out to my family and friends because we need help. We have limited time to make arrangements, as her son is taking an emergency leave from the Navy but has to be back to VA by March 2nd. If you can donate anything, regardless of the amount, it would be very much appreciated!
