On December 10th Melanie went to urgent care for having difficulty breathing and chest pains. There she was diagnosed with Influenza A, was given medication and sent on her way.
The next few days she was feeling slightly better but took a turn for the worse on December 13th and rushed to the hospital with the same symptoms. She was then diagnosed with strep, influenza a, and severe pneumonia. She was admitted into the hospital for the next several days which required surgery, and draining of her chest.
Surgery did not go as planned due to how weak she was and just how sick her body was. She was air lifted to a Fairfax hospital for more extensive treatment and rest.
All of this will take several weeks, maybe even months for her to return to normalcy. Unfortunately her hospital visit came a month early as to when her insurance policy would kick in. Now she is left with hefty medical bills as well as her normal monthly bills.
I am starting this funding off at $50,000.00 just so that she doesn't have to worry about her bills for the next few months and that her medical bills keep increasing by the day. Mel would do anything for anyone and has the kindest most loving soul ever. Let's help her when she is in need of us the most right now.
