Melanie Travels to Study at BADA in Oxford

Hello Friends, Family, Community Members, and Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated!

 

Many of you have followed me as I pursue my acting and artistic dreams over the years, and I genuinely thank you for your continued love and support. Some of you may be familiar with my journey via a friend, Soror, family member, social media, or growing up together but haven't seen me in action yet. Either way, I'm asking for your help today.

 

I'm excited to announce that I have recently been accepted to the esteemed British American Drama Academy for the Midsummer in Oxford Program! This program is held at the University of Oxford in England and focuses on British acting techniques with an emphasis on Shakespeare. It is run in association with the David Geffen School of Drama at Yale.

 

I am very grateful for this opportunity as the audition process is very selective, and many greats within the industry have gone here, such as Aja Naomi King, Y’Lan Noel, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Chadwick Boseman. As I train and focus on this special time in my career development, funds will go toward tuition, housing, airfare, excursions, and meals. Due to impacts of Covid-19, they are not able to offer me scholarship aid, so if you can donate and/or share my campaign, it would all help make this a reality for me. With about 50% of the funds due by April 30th, and another 40% due by May 15, the timeline is quite the turnaround, but I will still be accepting donations to help me through the upcoming months of travel arrangements and getting through the program after those dates.
