Mekos Medical expenses

My name is Deb Deboer and I have and operated Debs Dog care for the past 9 years.  I am listed on Angies list as well as FB under Debs Dog Care.

My many clients can attest to the dedication and conscientious care I have given their animal companions in their absence, and also training classes when requested.

I am by no means comfortable reaching out like this as I am a care giver at heart, and always the first ones tending needs of our animal companions and their humans.

I rescued Meko, my Biewer Terrier when he was just short of a year old. It was love at first sight for this 3 pound bundle of joy. He has since become a certified therapy dog who's infectious inner spirit has brought many soulful moments to those in Hospice. Folks that we have met on our many outings have been greeted with unbiased affection, and many doggie hugs & kisses.

My Meko has been sick for over a month. He has undergone biopsies, bloodwork and laser treatments in the hopes to find out what is wrong. One cannot put a value on finances when it comes to the furry life of a family memeber, and he is my child, my heart, and he is such a trooper.  So, although these funds were not available I knew I couldnt live with myself If I didnt do what ever was necssary.

I was advised to see a Neurologist and it became painfully clear this morning that there was no other option as Meko, up to this point in time, had only been able to hold his head to one side and stumbled when he walked. Now he was having difficulty breathing, keeping food in his mouth, and his eyes were not focused.

He had been taken off all his meds, including prednisone, to see if he would get better. Unfortunatley 48hours had passed when he began exhibiting these new symptoms.

They are keeping him tonight in the hospital away from his familiar surroundings, and I am totally beside myself.

A MRI will be added to his ever growing medical exspenses tomorrow which have already become too much to handle in this very short time.

The Neurologist knows from his symptons, his body movements, etc. that it is coming from the back of his brain as he has lost his motor skills.

If you can help in any way, it would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise, Please keep us in your prayers, and please share with your family & friends.

Love & Light.........  Deb
