Mekhia Gilchrist Burial Fund

Mekhia age 12 was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer (Sarcoma)  on September 14, 2016.  She had been in the UNC Pediatric Intensive Care Unit since her diagnosis.

Months went by before the doctors were able to diagnois her condition.  She was in pain for 8months until they were able to figure out her illness.

After het 1st surgery doctors thought tumor was gone but only to return with a more dimmer prognosis that it could not be treated. 

Mekhia was strong and brave young lady.  She told her sister "we will be alright" in a text from surgery.

She believed in God and had a kind and loving spirit. She would give you anything she had,  if you needed it.  Now she need you!

On Wednesday, September 27, 2017,  God called her home. 

Let's all come together to give Mekhia a homegoing celebration that she deserve.

All funds collected will go to pay for funeral expenses entrusted to Knotts Funeral Home.
