Meggin's Mission to Heal

On September 14, 2018, while sitting in a meeting at work at St. Pius X School, Meggin developed a sudden, excruciating headache. She also became extremely dizzy and nauseated. She went to the Nurse's office where the staff contacted her husband, Brad, and he immediately took her to St. Vincent Carmel hospital where she underwent a CT scan of her brain. Early results revealed that she had suffered an aneurysm that had burst and needed to be rushed to the St. Vincent trauma center where she could receive a higher level of care specifically geared toward strokes and other neurological vascular injuries.
She was immediately admitted into the Neuro Intensive Care Unit where she will remain for approx 2 weeks. She had a catheter put into her brain to drain the fluid built up from not being able to drain properly. Since her arrival at St. Vincent's, she has underwent multiple CT scans followed by a more conclusive angiogram that determined she did not suffer from an aneurysm as originally thought. At this point, the doctors are diagnosing her with a subarachnoid hemorrhage. They don't know what caused it and don't know if they ever will be able to determine a definitive cause.
While Meggin is progressing daily, she is not out of the woods by any means. Her estimated length of stay in the ICU is 2wks, she has to undergo multiple CT scans, multiple angiograms as well as numerous other tests and extensive neurological & cardiac monitoring. This doesn't include her step down to a regular hospital bed and additional possible time spent in a rehab unit.
In addition to medical bills, Brad is spending an excessive amount of money on fuel, traveling back and forth from home to the hospital. With him taking time off of work and losing Meggin's income indefinitely, their household bills are going to fall behind as well. These bills will mount quickly and surpass anything the family will be able to pay, even with the health insurance. We are asking for the help of friends and family to come to their aid in this desperate time of need. Their need is urgent!!!
