2018 Winter Paralympics
Hi, I'm Megan Harmon! Four years ago I competed in the 2014 Winter Paralympic Games in snowboard-cross and the 2018 Games are just around the corner! This season all of our World Cup competitions have been in foreign countries with half of our comps being completed in November. In order to prepare for these competitions, I trained in Chile for 3 weeks in September then in Finland for 3 weeks in November. I also purchased a new sports knee in order to stay competive. It's all paying off tho with two 5th place finishes. Sponsorship is extremely limited for Para sports so I'm having to pay my own way to these events. I've wracked up a lot of debt this season because of this and I still have several more months of coaching fees and competitions to pay for. Being a Paralympian isn't easy. It's a lot of work, and I can't do it without the support of my community.
Thank you!
