Medievalist needs Med. Insurance!

Today, I learned that after eight years of health insurance reimbursement, the university where I am getting my PhD will not be giving me any assistance with insurance.  Fortunately, I do have a part-time job at a Unitarian fellowship, and they generously cover 40% of my insurance costs.  
But that leaves me to pay the remaining 60% out of pocket, and on a graduate student's stipend, with a family, that's not money I can easily pay out.  And as someone with both Crohn's Disease and Graves Disease, I am in need of continual medical care, monitoring, and medication, so I cannot afford to be without insurance.
To make matters worse, as this is a student health insurance policy, if I do not pay the entire amount by November, I will not be permitted to register for my Dissertation Guidance in the spring.  This is my final year in school; I will be defending my dissertation in April and graduating in May...but not if I can't pay for my healthcare.  So not only does the university's decision to deny me health assistance jeopardize me health, it jeopardizes the completion of my degree, which I've worked for eleven years to obtain.  To lose all of that now, for the sake of $2,400 that I simply don't have, is incomprehensible, and simply not an option.
So I'm turning to all of you, once again, and asking for any kind of help you can give so I can pay for my healthcare, thus ensuring my continued health and career goals.  I cannot stress enough how grateful I am for any and all support.  All I want to do is finish this PhD and maintain my health, something my university apparently does not care about.  Thank you all in advance for anything you can do to help me reach my goals.
