Medicine for Ukrainian Hospitals

We have been horrified without reprieve by the images coming in over the last weeks from Ukraine. Seeing children, babies even, slaughtered in cold blood and becoming victims of war has devastated us. Fleeing is an option for some, but many families have decided to stay, out of necessity, desire, or principle. Organizations working on the ground to get refugees out of Ukraine are beyond valuable, but we feel that getting goods and supplies across the border to those still in Ukraine is just as indispensable.

 

Blue Heron Foundation is one of those organizations. It has partnered with a group of Romanian doctors stationed throughout the Ukrainian border, who are ready with lists of medicine provided them by several hospitals and orphanages in Ukraine. Blue Heron Romania purchases the items on the lists and then takes them to safe stations across the border where they meet up with a caravan of Ukrainian volunteers and hand over the items quickly and safely. In turn, these volunteers take these items by hand to the hospitals and orphanages that are holding out for their lives in Kyiv, Harkiv, and Chernivtsi.

 

Please help us with whatever donation you can, even a dollar or just a few, to continue providing the lifesaving and absolutely crucial medical assistance to the sick and to children, the most defenseless individuals in a state at war. Gabi and Emma’s goal is to raise $10,000 to help with the continuation of purchasing and safe transportation of medical supplies from Romania to Ukraine. Anything you can contribute will be of incredible help, and if we reach our goal, we can say that we have provided one week’s worth of medical assistance and supply to a shortlist of hospitals and orphanages in Ukraine.
