Medical Treatment for Richard Paa Kofi Botchwey

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Richard Paa Kofi Botchwey. I am a Ghanaian Writer, Essayist, Freelance Editor,

I am the author of My Shoes Don't Fit, The Tale of an Orphan.

In July of 2020, I visited a herbal clinic in Accra, off the Spintex Road, as I was having a serious backache. After running some blood tests, it came out that my Uric acid and my sugar was high and that there was too much inflammation in my body. This perturbed me, so I asked for the best means and ways to normalise these results. The health professionals, speaking of the doctor and the nurses that assessed said the only way was for me to go herbal.

I ended up paying Ghc1,400 all in all, and I was given four bottles of herbal mixture. Two weeks after finishing two bottles of the herbal mixture, my balance started going off.

A few days later, I  went to Danpong Clinic to run a few tests in order to get to the root of it all. The test came out that I had typhoid fever. I thought it was this typhoid that was causing the balance disorder, and so I focused on treating it.

The typhoid fever was still there after visiting three other health facilities. I went back to a government hospital for the final treatment of typhoid.

Now when the typhoid symptoms stopped, my balance was still off.
The last doctor that reviewed me said I was having VERTIGO. I did not even know what that was until I googled.
I have been on Stugeron but that has not helped.

Since then I have been unwell. And this has to do with Balance Disorder, Vertigo. So, I have been battling a balance disorder since July 2020. I have been to the hospital, done several tests, but none is working.

I am still battling vertigo, balance disorder. And yeah, I also have a vestibular migraine.

And yes I have managed to edit, write. But it has reduced my quality of life.

Yes, I have gone back to the doctors and they keep prescribing medications so that I have bought and bought and I am unable to buy. Worse, the medications are not working.

The good news is that, after sharing my condition on my Facebook page, I have found where I can be treated. The sad part is that I am not in the financial position to fund the cost involved because I have spent hugely in the last six months.

I am reaching out to my friends and family to help me raise the funds that will help me get treated. The total cost is $2,000.00.

Balance Disorder,
Vertigo,
Vestibular Migraine is disturbing my writing life.

Any contribution towards the cost of my treatment is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for all of your love, support, and encouragement.
Love,

Richard
