Medical Treatment for Emelynn

~Emelynn is learning to adjust to her feeding tube.~

A few weeks ago, my little 19 month old cousin, Emelynn, was in a near drowning accident. She went from a bubbly, talking, running around, happy little girl to one who now has moderate brain damage due to lack of oxygen. She has seizures, blindness, can't walk, can't talk, is on a feeding tube, plus much more. She is getting lots of therapy on a daily basis to try to help her improve.

I,Jen, (Dorothy's cousin) am setting up this gofundme because we have found a treatment that has been proven to help heal and improve brain damage. The therapy is called H.B.O.T. Its oxygen therapy that when cells in the brain die, either from trauma or lack of oxygen, blood plasma leaks out into surrounding brain tissue causing swelling and reducing blood flow. These otherwise normal cells go dormant because they can't function without the appropriate amount of oxygen. H.B.O.T dramatically increases the oxygen carried in the blood plasma, making oxygen available to heal damaged capillary walls, preventing plasma leakage and reducing swelling. As the swelling decreases, blood flow can be restored to the dormant tissue (neovascularization) and these cells then have the potential to function again. The problem is, insurance doesn't cover this. Emelynn will need close to 100 treatments and the family needs our help to cover all the medical costs for this treatment. She needs to start this as soon as possible. The sooner we raise the funds, the quicker our little fighter can have a second chance at learning to walk, talk, run and play again. ~Before- Look at those baby blues~
