Quality of life for Jason

UPDATE 29th July 2024
Jasons last MRI showed no new regrowth. This is excellent news. The tumour hadn’t shrunk, but it hasn’t grown either.
The plan going forward is to finish chemo in September 2024, MRI’s every 3 months to check for changes. It certainly is getting physically harder on chemo the longer Jason is on it, more side effects. But together with Isabelle we keep plodding along day by day.
We thank everyone who has supported us emotionally, physically and financially. Not just through the gofundme page, but in other ways. I have uploaded a new photo from our holiday to Shark Bay in April 2024 where we created new memories and took many photos of happy moments.

UPDATE 11th August 2023
Jason has been given a new update on his prognosis. And while this gives Jason extra time with loved ones, his situation is no different. The tumour can not be removed, it’s still terminal but he could have upto 5 years. Hey that’s better than 12 months we were originally told.

On Friday the 18th August 2023 Jason will be ringing the bell that signifies the end of radiation treatment. Jason will have 4 weeks rest before starting chemotherapy for 12 months (21 days on and 7 days off). It’s a long time and I hope that Jason will trooper on and fight with everything he has!

UPDATE: Jason and I have had an update yesterday and we have been told that Jason has a stage 3/4 Gliobastoma or Astrocytoma grade 3 tumour. The tumour is inoperable and will be treated with radiation and oral chemo. Jason has been given a possible 12 months of precious time with family and loved ones. Every minute counts right now.
We are extremely grateful to everyone who has donated so far for treatment, I will be exploring other options and we aren’t giving up.
Please share our gofundme, please donate as every dollar will enable us to seek other options or at least have quality of life to enjoy every minute together as a family.

Hi, my name is Toni and I am fundraising for my husband, Jason. On Sunday the 14th of May Jason awoke in the early hours feeling unwell. Shortly after he began to have seizures and an ambulance was called. At the hospital he was intubated and transferred to Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth. Further tests have revealed a large tumour in the right frontal hemisphere of his brain. It is roughly the size of half an orange.
Further testing and biopsy is still ongoing, however, the doctors have suggested treatment will likely involve chemotherapy and radiation treatment.
Any funds kindly donated would be used toward assisting with day to day costs while Jason is unable to work as he undergoes treatment, which is expected to be ongoing for 6 to 12 months.
