Medical Support for Max

Dear friends and family,
For the past few days our dog, Max, has been in the ICU at the NC State Vet Hospital. When I came home on Tuesday, Max was bleeding from his mouth and wasn’t able to walk without stumbling. It turns out that he had a stroke. In addition, the vet discovered that his platelet count was zero and he had bleeding in several parts of his body including his brain, GI tract and lungs. The vet also discovered a mass in his lungs but aren’t yet able to identify whether it is of concern. The main focus has been increasing his blood count which has gone up and down. The couple of blood transfusions he has had have been helpful, but we are not yet in the clear.
We humbly ask for your support through well wishes, prayers and any donations that you can spare. Not only is this difficult because we don’t know if he’s going to make it, but anyone who knows me knows that I never ask for anything. I guess desperate times call for desperate measures.
