Medical supplies Ukraine

If you are like most Canadians, you will have been watching the events in Ukraine unfold with a mixture of horror, sorrow, and compassion. But you will also likely have been captivated and inspired by the brave and united front that the Ukrainian people have demonstrated in their fierce resistance and solidarity. The Ukrainians are standing strong, committed to each other and their country.

And, if you are like many Canadians, caring as we are, you have had the desire to do something to help. Well, now you can.

Through our military and veteran contacts, we have learned that the medics working on the front lines of the war-stricken areas of Ukraine are desperately in need of medical supplies. Bandages, splints, tourniquets, and some medications. I am currently working in the small, isolated town of Hornepayne, in Northern Ontario. The hospital here is full of exceptionally capable, caring people, as is the entire town. Let’s show the Ukrainian people that we can stand strong in support with them. We have created this GoFundMe to raise funds to purchase potentially lifesaving supplies that will be swiftly shipped to the Ukrainian war front lines through Canadian Aid channels. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to purchasing what is needed at the best possible prices, and we will ask suppliers to donate extra as well.

I challenge all of those that have been part of our Project Trauma Support program to donate too. I know how much your front-line experience has made you yearn to get over to Ukraine to help. Your financial contribution at this time will be very helpful. Please share with your family and friends.

We have set a lofty goal of $20,000 for this fundraiser, and we hope to have it complete so we can purchase what is needed by Wednesday, April 6. I know the tiny town of Hornepayne could do this, with their generous hearts. Let’s all contribute and see what type of solidarity Canadians, even from small, isolated towns and scattered across Canada, can do for our fellow humans in distress. Remember, someday the devastation of war could happen to us! It could be our children, our families and neighbors’ that are suffering. We can’t just stand by…
