Medical mission in Benin

The Canada Africa Community Health Alliance (CACHA) is a non-government organization that seeks to improve the health of rural communities through partnerships to facilitate programs and initiatives for disease prevention, treatment, care, support and education to the most vulnerable in Bénin, Tanzania and Uganda.
My second cousin has been organizing their trip to Benin for a number of years so when she got in touch with me asking if I'd be interested in assisting with the two week mission there I said yes.
I became a nurse with the intention of running off with médecins sans frontières the day I graduated. Then I discovered they required two years of experience. Preferably in the ER. And then I discovered I loved ER nursing.
I currently work in what I truly believe to be the best ER in Canada and I know that I have so much to learn there so my priorities have changed. But the opportunity to go and take part in something as meaningful as this program in Benin without having to completely uproot my life is one I have to take.
Unfortunately I don't really just have 5k sitting in my bank...
That's where im asking you to come in.
The money covers my airfare and accommodation while there as well as the mission cost itself:
Providing healthcare to and paying for medications for about 3000 people per visit in the town of Anoum. As well as the salary of a full time nurse there throughout the year.
Oh and the dates fall on my birthday. So like consider this a birthday present :)
