Medical for Heather Garner-Becknell

For the past two years Heather has suffered from bouts of pancreatitis.  For anyone who has not experienced the condition, it is an extremely painful and debilitating condition.  She is typically hospitalized and cannot eat for days and sometimes weeks. She was hospitalized from December 2017 through all of January 2018 with pancreatitis and placed on TPN (feeding through an IV).  During this time she was transferred from a hospital in her home town of Las Cruces, NM, to Tucson, AZ.  Upon discharge, a home health service was required to monitor Heather while she continued TPN.  Heather has consulted with specialists at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland, OH) and they are considering an eventual surgery of a pancredectomy with islet transplant. This means they would remove the pancreas and transplant islet cells into her liver to help prevent diabetes from developing. She has traveled out to Cleveland for consultations and tests. At the moment, she is admitted at the Cleveland Clinic for pancreatitis, syncope (passing out) due to vast swings in blood pressure and other gastrointestinal issues. As the doctors continue to run tests the medical bills (exams, prescriptions, travel, hotel, etc) are piling up.  There are follow-up examinations in Cleveland in the coming months which will require Heather and a family member to travel and stay for weeks at a time.  She is blessed with a loving family and supportive friends; however, she and her family now have the financial struggles to contend with along with the medical and emotional struggles.  Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
