Medical Eye Surgery Fund

Wow, I said i'd never do this, and now i'm doing this.

Hi, if you'r ehere you know me or know of me. I'm Cory Gelnett. I am an artist and illustrator, painter, creator, father and fiance'. 

I won't fil lthis with flowery talk, instead i'll explain what happened. I woke up one day with a cloudy right eye and rubbed it as any of us would, and that cloudiness wouldn't go away. I thought nothing of it and let it go as a slight bother and proceeded on with my life. well a day turned into a week, which is now at 6 months. Angela, my fiance pushed me to go see a doctor as I had a semblance of vision insurance. 

Cataract. A Posterior Subcapsular cataract he called it. not the kind of cataract you get from "just getting older", but one that sneaks up and coems from nowhere. I soon will not be able to see from this eye unless  Iget surgery. On my recent followup, My eye doctor told me "Well, the other one is also going to get cloudy and follow suit. Your eye is trying to compensate from loss of vision from one, which is now going to go down the same path your right eye is now. " As of this typing, my right eye is at about 60%, and my left is around 95%. So. I need both of my lenses replaced. 

My vision insurance. yeah, about that. They'll cover some. But not all. And if I want to keep drawing, and keep painting and be able to see without any correction then i would need these type of lenses (that my insurance says is considered "Cosmetic surgery" (not joking). A Crystalena/Trulign IOL Lense is whats needed in each eye

My fiance' Angela and I are coming up with some of the cash, I'm pulling loans from retrement, etc, but i am coming up short. In order to do both eyes..they want to do them within 3 weeks of each other. (so I am not totally blind with both eyes covered and wrapped.) So the money is being asked up front and it is needed soon, so I can still drive and actually see to draw, type on a computer or just walk. Plus, I'd like to be able to see my wife, when we get married!

Okay, so now you ask "What do I get out of this?"

First, you will undying gratitude from not only me, but my fiance' and our family. 

Second, If you do help me tackle this stupid bill, and you come to me, I will show you what you get. I will leave my skills as an artist and illustrator at your disposal to ask of me artwork to give you something of worth back in value. I will give to you the one thing you will be helping give to me.. my vision. (I kind of need it to draw, ya know)

I'm desperate. I'm not going to downplay this. I am out in front of you, with hat in hand, small cup out, asking for your help.
