Hi...my name is Tammy,  and I'd like to share this with you.   In late May, my sweet sister-in-law, Tanya Nicosia, was rushed to Santa Clara Valley Hospital in San Jose, CA.   She was then diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF, please go to Web MD and search "IPF" for full informaion on this disease).  Because her's was in it's advanced stages, it was necessary for them to put her on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma to rest her lungs and begin the healing process.  
  In time she was taken off the vent and no longer sedated.  Sadly, complications from this disease and scar tissue, the doctors have concluded that she must have a LUNG TRANSPLANT.  She will soon be transferred to UCSF in San Fransisco to await her translant. 
   Tanya is blessed with a wonderful support system in her family and friends, near and far.  Her husband, Russell Nicosia...her children Pete (Jessica) and Tawn (Art) and step-children Carey (Chip) and Carly (David), and the loves and lights of her world, her grandchildren, Destiny, Aiden, Braiden, Jacob, Brooke, Trinity, Rylan, Carsten, Conner, Hunter, and Madison...and any other child in her life all lovingly call her"Nana"...Her siblings,  large family and extensive friends-too-many-to-list and all of us here in NY (her in-laws).
  These people never left her alone in the hospital in San Jose, there was always someone with her.  Unfortunately, now that she's being moved further from home, this will be very difficult. 
  The extra medical expenses, moving expenses, visiting, etc, etc, etc. is innumerable.  We are reaching out for Tanya's benefit to make her transfer and transplant as easy on her as possible.  We humbly ask for your help, your thoughts, your love, and mosty, for your prayers.    ANY donation, big or small, will all go for her ease and comfort and medical attention.
