Medical Expenses for Tim Shuler

This GoFundMe is for the benefit of Tim Shuler. After multiple visits to a local doctor for various reasons thought to be related to already diagnosed emphysema, a very large mass was found in his throat covering his voice box. There has been a biopsy done, and although the results of that biopsy are not back yet, the doctors have said they're 100% sure that it is cancer, and that it has metastasized to the lymph nodes in his throat as well. At this time it is unknown if it has metastasized to any other parts of his body, although it is suspected to possibly be in his brain.
While at the hospital in West Plains, MO Tim began to be very disoriented, confused, and combative, further fueling the suspected spread of the cancer. He was then moved from West Plains hospital to Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri where they are better equipped to handle his evolving medical issues.
Once he arrived in STL, the team of doctors and surgeons got to work. He received the surgery that he needed to put in a tracheostomy and get a biopsy of the mass in his throat. Unfortunately, during the surgery to put in the trach, Tim passed a blood clot and had a stroke. He has lost most of the function on the right side of his body because of this. He has had various other testing such as MRI's, EKG's, etc.
There is still a very long road of testing, getting results, making a plan, and recovery. When he is released from the hospital, he will require at least a 2 week in-patient stay at a rehab facility because of the stroke.
It is impossible to know when he will be able to return home, and it is unlikely that he will be able to return back to work. No time soon at least for either. All of the money raised from this GoFundMe will go towards medical bills, living expenses, traveling to and from the hospital, etc. Any contribution is very much appreciated, especially during the holiday season and when so many others have struggled this year as well.
