Medical Expenses for Olga Trina my Mom

Hi, my name is Marjorie Redondo, I'm fundraising for my Mom Olga Trina Alfonzo de Redondo. My family and I are reaching out to all our friends and family to help us with the medical expenses for her as you all know all medical treatments must be paid by the patient upfront in Venezuela. On February 19th, 2022 my family took my Mom for an Rx because she has been coughing continuously during the night and they found a dark spot on her left lung when they did a PCR for Covid she got positive after being fully vaccinated. My Mom is 84 years old, and the infection was very strong her blood count, pressure, etc. were so high that the doctor recommended an intravenous treatment for 7 days and changed to pills for another 7 days more. However, the problem persists with the cough and on March 27th she coughed the whole night with phlegm that’s what she thought. In the morning when she woke up there was blood on the towel she was using.

My Mom was rushed to the hospital and was hospitalized for 4 days. Back home they put her in another treatment for 7 days again for the bleeding. On April 14th started vomiting a lot of blood, my siblings got an ambulance because she was short of breath and after going around 3 different clinics didn’t take her in except for the last one where they nebulized her 3 times and sent her home because they didn’t have a specialist there. In the meantime, the doctor that took care of her for Covid sent a nurse home with an oxygen machine to help her breathe because her oxygen level was very low.

Wednesday, April 20th after the holidays finally got an appointment with the specialist to check her out and they are doing several exams including lung cytology, culture, and Antibiogram, Sputum BK, plus 4 others one of them is histoplasmosis starting this week. For now, she is eating little, still using the oxygen machine, has no bleeding so far thanks to God, stable but with ups and downs. Until all these texts are done, we don’t know exactly what is the diagnosis going to be of what is happening with her. We are in God’s hands and praying every day. All we need to do is wait until we get all the results.

Hola, mi nombre es Marjorie Redondo, estoy recaudando fondos para mi mamá Olga Trina Alfonzo de Redondo. Mi familia y yo queremos pedirles a todos nuestros amigos y familiares para que nos ayuden con los gastos médicos de ella, como todos saben, los tratamientos médicos deben ser pagados por el paciente por adelantado en Venezuela y mas si no tienes un seguro. El 19 de febrero de 2022, mi familia llevó a mi mamá a un Rx porque ha estado tosiendo continuamente durante la noche y le encontraron una mancha oscura en el pulmón izquierdo y cuando le hicieron una PCR para Covid, dio positivo después de estar completamente vacunada. Mi mamá tiene 84 años, y la infección era muy fuerte, su hemograma, presión, etc. eran tan altos que el médico recomendó un tratamiento intravenoso durante 7 días y cambió a pastillas por otros 7 días más. Sin embargo, el problema persiste con la tos y el 27 de marzo tosió toda la noche con flema eso pensó. Por la mañana cuando se despertó había sangre en la toalla que estaba usando.

Mi mamá fue llevada de urgencia al hospital y estuvo hospitalizada durante 4 días. De regreso a casa la pusieron en otro tratamiento por 7 días nuevamente por el sangrado. El 14 de abril empezó a vomitar mucha sangre, mis hermanos llamaron a una ambulancia porque le faltaba el aire y después de dar 3 vueltas en diferentes clínicas no la atendieron excepto en la última donde la nebulizaron 3 veces y la mandaron a casa porque no tenían un especialista allí. Mientras tanto, el médico que la atendió por Covid envió a casa a una enfermera con una máquina de oxígeno para ayudarla a respirar porque su nivel de oxígeno estaba muy bajo.

Miércoles 20 de abril después de las Pascuas finalmente consiguió cita con el especialista para que la revisara y le están haciendo varios exámenes incluyendo una citología pulmonar, cultivo y Antibiograma, Sputum BK, además de otros 4 de los cuales uno es histoplasmosis a partir de esta semana. Por ahora está comiendo poco, sigue usando la máquina de oxígeno, hasta ahora no sangra gracias a Dios, estable pero con altibajos. Hasta que no terminen todos estos textos, no sabemos exactamente cuál será el diagnóstico de lo que está pasando con ella. Estamos en las manos de Dios, orando todos los días y esperando los resultados.
