Medical Expenses for Mac

On Saturday January 21st, our father, Bobby "Mac" Mac Arthur fell down the basement stairs. During the fall, he sustained major injuries including 10 broken ribs, a dislodged rib punctured his right lung which caused internal bleeding and a collapsed right lung, a broken collarbone, he broke vertebrae in his neck and mid back, he has a head laceration about 4-5 inches in length and worse, he sustained subdural hematoma, or brain bleed. He was airlifted to Morristown hospital where he is currently in the ICU in a medically induced coma and is on a ventilator.

On Friday, January 27th Mac underwent thoracic surgery to clean up and remove the excess blood and fluid around his lungs and collarbone. The surgeon also plated 5 of his displaced ribs.

As many of you know, our father is a retired Jersey City Fire Department firefighter. He is equally as strong as he is crazy. We know he will recover from this. The doctors are telling us that road to recovery will be long and hard.

We are asking for donations for his medical expenses and hospital travel expenses. Our mom has been by his side every day even when his doctors and nurses tell her "He's going to be like this for a while, you should go home and rest."
