Medical Expenses for Ian Montie

Hi friends and family,
My name is Amanda Brackrog and I would like you to know my boyfriend and greatest love, Ian Montie. He is a dentist in Peoria, IL and serves his communty with pride and dedication. Ian is also a son, a brother, an uncle and a fun-loving man to all who know him. I, and all who know him, could go on with a million reasons how Ian has blessed our lives and the lives of those around him.
Ian has struggled with pain around his right SI Joint for about 7 months and, after seeking care from numerous local physicians, physical therapists, and other health providers, has tried many treatments with no relief from his pain. After continuing to look for answers and help, he finally found a physician who thought it was best to image the symptomatic area instead of his spine.
On October 26, 2016 Ian was diagnosed with a large sarcoma located in his pelvis and it was recommended for him to seek help outside of Illinois in order to receive the most appropriate and best treatment. Ian and I immediately left Peoria and drove to Maryland where his mother resides in order to seek treatment at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
After a consult at Johns Hopkins Hospital and further testing at their sarcoma center, Ian was diagnosed an aggressive chondroblastic osteosarcoma with likely metastasis to his right lung. This sarcoma involves the bones of his pelvis, sacrum and sacral nerve roots.
Ian has been provided with a great team of doctors which includes a clinical oncologist, orthopedic surgeon and neurosurgeon, as they will all need to be closely involved in his case due to the extensive size of this tumor.
After a consult with this oncology team, labs, imaging, testing and treatment plan initiation, we received the devastating call that his current insurance company is denying the claim as he is 'out of network' without necessity. As we scramble to seek coverage for this extensive and thorough care we are asking for donations of any amount to go direclty towards his medical expenses and medical care needs.
The funds are needed as soon as possible as he is initiating treatment this week with so many obstacles in the coming days, weeks and months.
Time is critical as the cancer is aggressive and his pain is increasing each day. In addition to donations, please pray for the team of doctors who are overseeing Ian's care, a successful response to treatment and hasty insurance coverage, once eligible, to assist with the financial burden of this chapter in his life. Please pray for peace and trust in God through this process and strength for Ian and his family. This is important to me because Ian is the love of my life, the man of my dreams and the best man I have ever met. We have too many dreams together and we need to beat this cancer!
