He is our dad, Gary Haase

You all may not know my dad. He has always been the quiet person in the back of the crowded room. He always told me it is the quiet person that has the most knowledge because they're the person that is listening and learning. He has been a huge impact in my life and has shaped me into the person that I have become. To be strong-willed, independent, and to fight for what I want. He has always tried his best and given up what he could to help my sisters and I have the most we could in life. My dad is the person that is too proud to ask for help, and we always handled obstacles in our life as a family with little outside help. Occassionally it is just stupid to not ask others for help as it can take a village sometimes to conquer challenges. This is one of those times. My dad several months ago woke and thought he had experienced a stroke. He then had an MRI that showed he has an acoustic neuroma which is a tumor in the brain. It was causing things like loss of hearing, balance, and memory. The doctor told him this needed to be attended to soon, but not like "today." Now in upcoming weeks these symptoms have worsened. Losing balance, and hearing are things that most of us could right off because these things happen as we get older. However, it is the quality of life that is being taken away, and the longer this goes without treatment the more damage is being caused. He is already forgetting names of family pets that have been around for more than a decade. Also what my dad loves doing most with his family is going for walk around the "back 40." This is becoming a very difficult task, and my mom can't manage taking care of the farm animals along with caring for my dad by herself. They are working on getting insurance set-up. MD Anderson has informed them just a consult will cost $25,000, and this is without any treatment. I am asking for help so that they can even just get an initial consult with a neurosurgeon which has been quoted anywhere up to $600. Thank you for any help, we sincerely appreciate it, and hope this will help him get treatment sooner.
