Medical Expenses for ALS Patient (Lou Gehrig's)

Kat Bray is one of the unfortunate few who is suffering from ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. You probably remember the face of this affliction from the renowned scientist, Stephen Hawking. Kat is not as far along as Mr. Hawking was, but she currently is unable to walk, has difficulty feeding herself, and has limited use of her hands to do simple tasks such as writing or using a phone. She is in constant pain.

Right now, she is in the Winter Haven Hospital, but is expected to be transferred to an assisted living facility. Her goal is to be able to go home, and receive home health care. 

Kat raised 4 wonderful children, who are just devastated by her condition. She also adopted Eli, a severely autistic boy. She cared for Eli for 6 years before she had to give him up due to being unable to care for him. She had been on Medicaid due to Eli's disability, but her's was cancelled when she gave up Eli. Therefore, she is currently facing this horrible fate without insurance, although she has reapplied now that she, too, is disabled. Her medical costs in the interim are profound, and Medicaid does not go retroactive.

Please help to give this wonderful woman and mother the best quality of life she can hope for.
