Garrett Nelson’s Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Garrett was your typical guy at 30....worked hard every day, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his passion was his Harley. Life changed September 21, 2020 when Garrett was on his way home on that Harley he was hit by an “inattentive” driver who was on his phone and swerved into Garrett’s lane with little time to react Garrett tried to get as far over as possible but the inevitable happened. He was intubated on scene by paramedics and life flighted to EIRMC where they had to amputate his left leg above the knee his left arm was also broken and he sustained a few other minor injuries. He underwent 7 surgeries in 9 days and was hospitalized for 3 weeks. Garrett like so many of us had no health insurance at the time and is now not able to work until the doctor clears him. The medical bills continue to come in as well as monthly bills, rent, car insurance etc. and our savings account is going fast with all the doctor appointments, wound care, prosthetic fittings, etc. things are getting financially overwhelming. It’s going to take time for him to recover and be able to work like he used to but he has a positive attitude and is motivated to get there.
