Baby Niko Medical Expense

Hi, my name is Celeste Byerwalters, my daughter and son-in-law Jessica Verrigni and Niko Verrigni gave birth to a beautiful baby boy on Wednesday January 18, 2023. Mother and son was were sent home on Thursday from the hospital. The family starting noticing that his breathing was very quick, very short breathes, Niko Jr didn't eat at all on Thursday. Mother and son went to the pediatricians on Friday for a normal weight check, when expressing concerns about his lack of eating, suggestions were made. On Saturday my daughter contacted the lactation specialist and expressed her concerns about his failure to thrive, failure to latch. By Sunday Jessica and Niko Sr contacted the pediatrician sent a video of his breathing, they were directed to Albany Medical Center ER. So much focus was on his lack of eating, so much was missed. Niko Jr ended up going into Cardiac Arrest, doctors and nurses revived him and he is currently in Albany Medical Center in the NICU.

Niko Jr.'s potassium level caused his cardiac arrest, his acid levels were very high. He was put in an incubator, ventilater was intubated, he started having seizures. We are very lucky that he is alive today but are looking at some heavy medical bills current and future. We aren't a family that would normally ask for assistance but we would appreciate any help that you are willing to give.
