MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR ERNIE PETZNIK

Many of you have probably heard that my brother Ernie suffered a major life altering stroke on June 6th. He has lost his ability to speak along with his mobility. The difficult decision was made to place him in East Gate Lodge where he can be properly cared for.
He requires a tilt wheelchair with a ROHO cushion, sling and slider sheets all of which are not provided by the care home and not covered under Manitoba Health. Unfortunately, Ernie has a limited income and no personal health insurance to help cover these immediate costs or any other possible upcoming unforeseen expenses.
Some of you don't even know my brother or knew that I have an older brother. Others may have seen Ernie around town dropping in at local businesses or visiting his surrounding neighbors to gather items that people saved for him to add to his many collections, which was his pastime. It's hard to believe that he will no longer be able to do this. Ernie is only 64 years old which is too young to have the spend his remaining years in a personal care home.
