Emergency support for Peruvians protesting
Donation protected
Peruvians are out in the streets, protesting the abrupt removal of President Vizcarra by the Congress. There are many protesters wounded due to excessive force by police. In fact, international human rights groups have already expressed concern about the use of force by police, and the Organization of American States has called for Peru's Constitutional Court to explain the situation. There are many volunteer paramedics attending the wounded right now, but money is needed to pay for hospitalizations, emergency rooms, and first-aid kits. I have established contact with the Coordinadora Nacional de Derechos Humanos in Perú, and I will be sending all the donations to this group and any groups they deem appropriate. Thank you for your support. Photo by Ernesto Benavides: Getty Images
