Medical costs for little Miss Daisy
Don protégé

Daisy is 5 months old and has just received interventional surgery to repair a congenital heart defect caused by the chromosomal deletion syndrome 22q11.2, also called DiGeorge syndrome.
Trying to prepare in utero for Daisy's condition was difficult. Doctors discovered she had a defect called a vascular ring. A vascular ring is a malformation of the aortic arch anatomy, where vessels partly or completely encircle the trachea and esophagus. The only course of action was to wait until she entered into the world to perform better tests.
On December 11th, 2020, Daisy entered our hearts. She was small but already mighty in personality! Her full head of hair made everyone jealous!
Over the following months, and lots of testing, it was discovered that Daisy's condition presented with a complete ring. Her team of doctors knew she needed surgery but she had time to get stronger. But with the complete ring, eating was difficult for her and she had to have a nasogastric feeding tube placed.
Once Daisy was strong enough, she was able to have her life saving surgery. For someone so small, her strength continued to amaze us. What was supposed to be a 2 week stay in the hospital, lessened to only one week. She met every milestone head on, and said, "Get me out of here!!!"
Now that Daisy is home, we hope that with your generosity, we can help the Bonner family cover the costs of her surgery. Her parents, Jabar and Maria, are the most generous and loving friends I have had in my life. Their son Sean and puppy Jazz, are happy to see their sister home but the road to recovery will be long. Even with the world's best insurance, medical costs are high. So, please help me give back to my wonderful friends. I can't think of anyone else in this world who deserves it more.
